Blossom’s vocalist Tom Ogden reflects on the band’s album “Gary”, Road to Success and Not Taking Themselves Seriously
Since releasing fifth album “Gary,” things feel even bigger. “It’s not a rebirth because we didn’t really fall off, but there is this new excitement around the band,” explains Ogden.
There’s no holding back this time. “It’s us being unashamedly us,” he adds. Just five mates making music for the fun of it. The band — comprising Ogden, bassist Charlie Salt, guitarist Josh Dewhurst, drummer Joe Donovan, and keyboardist Myles Kellock — formed in Stockport, a town just outside of Manchester, in 2013. The members grew up a couple of miles from one another. Inspired by local heroes Oasis and The Courteeners, the quintet set out to write catchy indie rock songs that could be screamed back at them.
