‘If the Stars Had a Sound,’ a New Documentary About Mogwai

For the past 30 years, Mogwai has become synonymous with prog-rock. But the band — comprising Stuart Braithwaite, Barry Burns, Dominic Aitchison, and Martin Bulloch — had never scored its first No. 1 album. That is, until 2021, with its 10th studio album “As the Love Continues.” A new documentary helmed by filmmaker Antony Crook, “If the Stars Had a Sound,” details the band’s creative process and connection to its fans, as well as finding the height of success amid the pandemic.
