MARVIN x Malibu Music

Malibu Music is the kind of place that reminds you why music stores matter in the first place. Not just as places to buy gear, but as places to spend time, ask questions, discover something new, and talk to people who actually care about what’s hanging on the wall.

That energy is built into everything there. The guitars, the amps, the conversations, the mix of players, collectors, first-timers, and regulars who come through. It’s a store with real personality — grounded in knowledge, taste, and a genuine love of music.

“We’re a place in the community where people can come hang out and jam, because that’s what we’re really all about,” says Brad Boeckmann, who founded Malibu Music with his wife, Teena.

That idea carries through the entire space, and through the team behind it — from Jeff, the manager, to Curtis on socials, to the rest of the crew, all of them bringing their own passion for music and guitars into the room. That’s what gives Malibu Music its character. It doesn’t feel staged or overworked. It feels lived-in, engaged, and real.

There’s a difference between a store that sells instruments and a place that actually reflects the culture around them. Malibu Music understands that difference. It’s about more than inventory. It’s about connection — to the instrument, to the sound, to the conversation, and to the larger community that grows around all of it.

Set against the backdrop of Malibu, that spirit takes on its own identity: relaxed, unforced, and deeply rooted in music. And through its social channels and YouTube presence, that world extends well beyond the store itself, giving people everywhere a way into the sound, style, and culture that define Malibu Music.
