When it comes to co-signs in the world of music, Nick Cave’s nod of approval is about as coveted as they come. And Paul Shine, the silver-tongued, smokey-eyed frontman of flamboyant rock outfit Dead Writers, knows how it feels; Cave namechecked the band on his online blog, Red Hand Files in 2020, after they sent in a cover to Bad Seed TeeVee (a 24/7 stream of Cave content material started during the pandemic). “It was such an unexpected and beautiful surprise. I have huge admiration for Nick Cave. His work, his artistic integrity, and his devotion as a creator are a true inspiration for me,” says Shine.
