Florence Pugh Joins Yungblud in Haunting New Visual for “Zombie”
Yungblud is back with “Zombie,” starring none other than Academy Award-nominated actress Florence Pugh. Directed by longtime collaborator Charlie Sarsfield and produced by Untold Studios, the cinematic video sets the stage for Yungblud’s most ambitious era yet.
The track comes out before his upcoming double album, IDOLS, with Part 1 dropping June 20 via Locomotion/Capitol Records. Pre-orders of the album are available now. Yungblud is building a project that is already taking shape—and it’s big, bold, and deeply personal.
In “Zombie,” Yungblud taps into a darker emotional space. He explains, “The song was written initially about my grandmother going through serious injury and trauma, leading her to become a different person to who she was before. It’s about the feeling of deterioration and ugliness—shutting out the world and the people we love out of fear of becoming a burden or an embarrassment.” He adds, “We all want someone or something to comfort us, no matter how we are right now or who we become in the future. But it’s f*cking scary.”
The track follows his sprawling 9-minute epic “Hello Heaven, Hello” and the punchy Brit-pop anthem “Lovesick Lullaby.” Each release reveals a different facet of the IDOLS universe—from stadium-sized vulnerability to raucous pub-rock energy.
Yungblud kicks off a 16-date North American headline tour on August 23 in Los Angeles, joined by rising alt-pop act Sawyer Hill. Full tour dates and ticket info are available at www.yungbludofficial.com/tour.
IDOLS is not just an album—it’s a collector’s dream. Alongside digital and CD formats, it’s dropping in six different vinyl variants, including signed and exclusive pressings like the “Distant Smoke” marble vinyl, “Wishing Well” magenta vinyl, and a wild “Hell and Back” two-color edition exclusive to Spotify. Each vinyl includes one of six collectible, double-sided lithographs. When assembled, they form a massive cross-shaped collage—a bold visual statement to match the album’s sonic ambition.
The Blood Records variant is real: filled with red “blood,” and personally endorsed by Steven Tyler in a cheeky video teaser. Add that to the growing legend of IDOLS.
With an emotionally honest single, an A-list visual co-star, and a wave of exciting releases leading up to the big drop, Yungblud is proving once again that he’s not just part of the scene—he’s shaping it.
Watch the official “Zombie” video now, and buckle in. IDOLS is coming.
